Notes from a Winery Visitor
Like many stories in the wine industry, David and Sharon Winnett followed their longtime dream and established Winnett Vineyard and Winery in the mountains of Humboldt County.   We had a chance to spend a day with them this past week and were reminded once again of the importance of experience as it is attached to tasting wine.

After working for a while, the Winnett's informed us that it was time to eat, drink wine, play Bocce Ball, and enjoy conversation on a particularly beautiful day.  The winery was closed to tastings that day.  But, we noticed that throughout the day, friends and neighbors came and went.  Every person that arrived was graciously welcomed by the Winnett's and invited to partake in the festivities.

The food was delicious, the conversation was lively, and the many varietals of Winnett wine were great.  While the wines are most certainly able to stand on their own, it was impossible to separate the enjoyment of them from the enjoyment of the day created at every level by the Winnett's.
